Communicating with other members

When The Meeting's Over allows you to connect with other business travellers around the world in a safe and secure way. It allows you to find people in the same city as you at the same time and with shared interests.
Firstly you create a profile for free using a username or alias which protects your privacy. Your profile allows other people to find you and also for you to be able to search for other users with shared interests. Your name and contact details are not revealed.
To communicate with other users you need to become a subscriber for a minimum period of 30 days. Being a subscriber activates the messaging facility. With messaging you can send messages to other subscribers still retaining your anonymity. Name and personal contact details are not revealed until subscribers choose to reveal them. We recommend you read the safe meeting guidelines before you do this.

What is the difference between a guest and a member?

Guests have the ability to set up profiles, search and match other users against their interests. Members have the extra ability to send and read mail so they send messages and arrange to meet if desired by both parties.

Is it free?

You can become a guest for free and set up a profile. If you wish to communicate with other users you will need to subscribe and register your details.

Yes. You decide who you reveal your personal information to and when you want to do this you send your name and or contact details using a message in the messaging system. Sending messages alone will not reveal your information, only if you put the details in a message.
We do not share your details with any other third parties for marketing purposes and will only do so if required to under the reasons given in the terms and conditions

Is content censored?

Generally you are free to write what you like however we will also remove or disable content which breaches any of our terms and conditions . We also have profanity filters which act to prevent unacceptable usernames from being chosen. These are not 100% perfect so if you feel that there is something untoward on the site please report it to us.

I have forgotten my username or password. How can I retreive them?

Please use the password reminder page. Enter your email address and we will send the login details to that address.

How do I change my password?

Log in and then go to Profile > Basic on the top menu bar. Use the edit link to change your password details. Please ensure your password cannot easily be guessed.

Search

How do I search?

To search for users you need to specify the CITY you will be/are in and a DATE. The site will then find all users who are there at that time.
To select the city you can either enter the city and country in the search box or you can use the map to find the country and then a drop down list to find the city. The date can be selected using the pop-out calendar.

How can I find people who share my interests?

If you have subscribed you can set up your profile and this allows you to filter out other subscribers who match any interests or a specific interest you select.

Profile

What is the purpose of the profile?

Unless you have a profile we cannot match you with other users and they can’t match with you. It enables you to be able to find people who share similar interests.

How do I set up a profile?

Use the profile button on the top menu and there you can select the different aspects of your profile to edit.

Why can’t I change my username?

Usernames cannot be changed as they are the identity on which all your details and communication are based. You can delete your profile, if required, but this will remove all your information, profiles, messages and subscription permanently.

How do I delete my profile?

Go to the basic profile page and select the delete link at the bottom of the page. Follow the instructions from there.

How can I hide my profile or parts of it?

You can adjust your privacy settings using the privacy profile page

How much does it cost to subscribe?

Subscription to this site is free.

How do I send a message to another member?

You need to be a subscriber to send messages. If you find a member you wish to send a message to just click the ‘send a message’ link on the user’s profile page.

How do I stop messages coming from another user?

When you are reading a message from the user you wish to block then click on the ‘Block This User’ link underneath the message box. The user will not be able to view your profile or send you messages.

How do I delete messages?

Use the checkbox on the left of the message to select messages you wish to delete. Then click the delete button. Your messages are then moved to the deleted section. This is done to allow you to recover deleted messages in case you accidentally delete them.
To completely delete the message highlight the messages in the deleted section in the same way and click the delete button.

How to I change the email notification settings?

Email notifications are sent out to advise you when you have received a new message from another subscriber. The notifications are optional, by default you will be notified instantly. You can choose to receive notifications instantly, once daily or not at all. Just select your preferred option and save.
