Never give out personal details

When replying to a private message, please never give out personal details such as address, phone number, or real name. Small details like this can give a person full access to your home and is not safe practice.

Tell a friend

When you arrange your first meeting, make it a short one, say a coffee somewhere, and tell one or preferably two friends:
• where you are going
• who with
• give them any details such as a phone number you may have
• tell them the time and place of the meeting and when you expect to be back

Do's and Don’ts

Plan your route to and from your rendezvous, preferably with your own transport or a taxi.
Do not go anywhere except a public place and certainly do not invite them back to your hotel.
If you want to leave, and feel uncertain how to do it, just excuse yourself (I need the restroom) then leave quickly and quietly.
If even slightly in doubt - don't, whatever it may be.
